Director of Accessibility Services – Law Center

About the role

The Director of Accessibility Services leads the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) within Georgetown Law Center’s Office of the Dean of Students. The role ensures that JD and LLM students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations in line with federal and local regulations, and supports students with temporary health conditions or pregnancy‑related needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise OAS staff, including an Associate Director, two Assistant Directors, and seasonal student workers and exam proctors.
• Review and implement reasonable accommodations for a large student caseload, handling complex requests directly.
• Oversee accommodations for MPRE and bar examinations.
• Manage the OAS budget and procurement of adaptive technologies and case‑management software.
• Collaborate with the Dean of Students and other campus units to set operational and strategic priorities.
• Represent OAS across the university and with external stakeholders.
• Promote universal design principles, train faculty and staff, and maintain the accessibility services website.

Required profile

• Significant experience supervising staff in a higher‑education or student‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal disability law (e.g., ADA, Section 504) and university accommodation processes.
• Proven ability to handle confidential, sensitive student cases with professionalism.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with faculty, staff, and external partners.

Required skills

• Familiarity with adaptive technologies used by students with disabilities.
• Experience with case‑management software for tracking accommodation requests.
• Budget management and procurement experience.
