Catholic Chaplain to the School of Nursing and the School of Health

About the role

The Catholic Chaplain provides pastoral presence, spiritual direction, and support to the communities of the School of Nursing and the School of Health at Georgetown University. Working within the campus ministry, the chaplain helps students, faculty, and staff deepen their spiritual lives in line with Catholic, Jesuit, and Ignatian traditions.

Key responsibilities

• Offer spiritual direction, pastoral counseling, and retreat programming for students, faculty, and staff.
• Serve as the primary spiritual resource for the Nursing and Health School communities.
• Supervise student workers and volunteers engaged in ministry activities.
• Collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain to the Medical Center and other campus ministry staff.
• Promote Catholic and Jesuit identity at school ceremonies and events.

Required profile

• Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree.
• At least three years of relevant ministry experience.
• Member of the Catholic Church in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of Ignatian spirituality and pastoral leadership.
• Understanding of clinical contexts and sensitivity to a diverse community.
• Ability to collaborate with leaders of other religious traditions.

• Annual salary range from $47,586.00 to $87,558.13.
