Director, Nursing

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead its Academic Nursing Bridge programs across multiple campuses. This senior position combines instructional leadership with full administrative responsibility, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Nursing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and oversee the ASN Bridge programs at Jasper, Butts, Spalding, and Fayette campuses.
• Balance teaching duties with administrative tasks, receiving release time for the latter.
• Evaluate performance of full‑time and part‑time faculty and staff within the nursing unit.
• Develop and manage program supplies, equipment lists, accreditation documentation, and state licensing reports.
• Assist the AVP in preparing program specifications, budgeting, and instructional plans.
• Represent the department at internal and external meetings and implement educational plans across all locations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Unencumbered RN licensure.
• 3‑5 years recent experience in an academic nursing unit, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Preferred: 3‑5 years of post‑secondary teaching, curriculum development, budgeting, and accreditation experience (SACSCOC, ACEN, GBON).
• Advanced degrees (DNP, PhD, EdD) or Master’s in Nursing Education are a plus.
