Director, International Growth Campaign Leader (R5851)
shieldai · Washington
Job description
About the role
Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is hiring a Director, International Growth Campaign Leader (R5851) in Washington. The role leads the internal operating system behind international X-BAT pursuits, giving regional and country Go-To-Market (GTM) leads a single, integrated view of the campaign and the mechanisms that turn it into faster decisions, earlier risk mitigation and better-supported leads. It is a pre-award enablement and integration role, not the primary customer interface.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the integrated international campaign picture: strategy status, critical path, milestones, dependencies, decision points and campaign health.
- Give GTM leads templates, playbooks, data, competitive and cost/schedule inputs, and cross-functional access to run their capture plans.
- Synchronize engineering, product, export, legal, contracts, finance, government relations and business operations around one prioritized campaign plan.
- Map the U.S. Government approval critical path (FMS, DCS, hybrid pathways, foreign disclosure, exportability, technology security) and ensure it is planned early and sequenced correctly.
- Identify conflicts between campaigns competing for aircraft, test windows, engineering effort, approvals or funding, and recommend tradeoffs to executives.
- Run the operating cadence: campaign reviews, gate reviews, risk registers, action tracking and executive dashboards.
- Track campaign investment and indirect spend with Finance and Business Operations, and scale discipline through lessons learned, metrics and playbooks.
Required profile
- 12+ years in international B2G capture management, program management, strategic or business operations, or a comparable cross-functional leadership role.
- Proven success leading complex initiatives spanning engineering, business development, operations, finance and executive leadership.
- Working knowledge of international defense pursuit dependencies such as FMS, DCS or hybrid acquisition pathways.
- Ability to influence without direct authority, strong executive communication, and deep operational rigor in schedules, critical path and risk mitigation.
- Comfort in ambiguous, fast-changing environments across multiple time zones, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred: experience supporting Department of War, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, aviation or defense-technology organizations, and experience in B2G business development and capture.
