Director, Internal Sales - Life & DI

About the role

MassMutual Strategic Distributors (MMSD) is looking for an experienced Life and Disability Insurance sales leader to lead its internal sales desk and sales support team in Springfield, MA. The role shapes how internal teams support advisors, distribution partners and external sales teams, and strengthens the execution discipline needed to grow Life and DI sales. It is a hybrid/full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Drive revenue goals: turn company strategy into team execution, ensure pipeline health and hold accountability for forecast accuracy and delivery.
• Develop people and culture: coach sellers on winning skills and behaviors, motivate and guide the team, build future leaders and mentor career paths.
• Simplify operations: remove obstacles so sellers spend more time with customers, enable smart use of process, CRM, data and AI, and liaise cross-functionally to drive approvals.
• Lead a high-performing internal sales team that partners with external wholesalers and key account teams, and represents Sales on initiatives such as illustration strategy, portal experience, digital tools and Salesforce improvements.
• Communicate priorities, risks, decisions and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and business partners.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in financial services.
• FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 24 or 26 licenses, or ability to obtain them within 6 months of hire.
• State Life and Health license, or ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
• Ideal: 3+ years of experience managing, coaching or leading others.

Required skills

• 3+ years of experience using Salesforce, Microsoft Office, reporting tools and sales activity/pipeline management processes.
• High school diploma.
