Director, Institutional & HNW Business Development (Investment Platform)

About the role

We are looking for a high‑energy, relationship‑driven Director to lead institutional and high‑net‑worth client acquisition across the United States. Based in New York, you will be the firm’s primary external presence, representing a differentiated investment platform to sophisticated allocators.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full capital formation lifecycle—from outreach and first meetings through diligence, negotiation, and close.
• Travel extensively (50–60% of time) to meet pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, RIAs, and other institutional or wealth advisory channels.
• Leverage existing relationships for early traction while systematically building a broader national pipeline.
• Maintain and deepen a strong network of institutional and wealth‑management relationships, with a focus on the Midwest.
• Partner closely with investment professionals, investor relations, and senior leadership to deliver compelling messaging to prospective investors.
• Maintain disciplined CRM usage and pipeline tracking for firm‑wide visibility.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in asset management, investment sales, or capital raising with a proven track record across institutional or wealth channels.
• Demonstrated success raising and retaining capital from pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, RIAs, or insurance platforms.
• Strong existing network across U.S. institutional markets; Midwest relationships highly preferred.
• Comfortable operating independently across large geographies while staying integrated with a centralized team.
• Credible communicator able to articulate complex investment strategies in formal and informal settings.
• Low‑ego, high‑output mindset with a collaborative orientation.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
