About the role
The Director of Global Hearing Protection and Protective Communication R&D leads the technical vision and execution for product development across two global laboratory sites. This senior leader drives innovation, compliance, and cost‑optimization for both passive and active hearing protection solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement the technical strategy aligned with global business objectives.
- Translate business priorities into resourced, measurable R&D plans.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams in acoustics, mechanical design, electronics hardware, embedded firmware, and product engineering.
- Oversee new‑product introduction (NPI) programs, regulatory certification projects, and cost‑productivity initiatives.
- Ensure technical rigor, risk management, and quality outcomes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, manufacturing, and global lab partners to deliver customer‑centric innovations.
Required profile
- Proven senior technical leadership in R&D, preferably within hearing protection or related safety products.
- Experience managing global laboratory operations and third‑party accredited certification labs.
- Strong track record of delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
