About the role

The Director, Food & Nutrition leads Lifelong’s Chicken Soup Brigade program, delivering medically‑tailored meals, culturally relevant groceries, and nutrition education to community members facing illness and injustice. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Programs, this senior leader translates organizational priorities into actionable strategies that advance health equity and improve community outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Food & Nutrition program, aligning with Lifelong’s mission and community health needs.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, overseeing daily operations, safety standards, and client‑centered service delivery.
• Identify and pursue revenue‑generating opportunities to expand and adapt services.
• Manage program budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
• Build and maintain partnerships with external agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
• Collaborate with internal leaders to ensure cross‑functional alignment and measurable impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading food, nutrition, or health‑related programs at a senior level.
• Strong background in program strategy, operational excellence, and financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and secure funding or revenue streams.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to health equity.

• Competitive salary range of $90,000‑$160,000 USD per year.
• Full‑time, permanent position with benefits.
• On‑site work in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5 pm.
