About the role

The University of Miami’s Urology Department is seeking a full‑time Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and operations on‑site in Miami, FL. This senior position serves as the principal advisor on all financial matters affecting the department’s short‑term and long‑term success.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgets, audit processes, and provide training to management.
• Communicate financial policies to finance committees and advance annual, operating, and capital budgets.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports to illustrate overall performance.
• Develop strategies to maintain the organization’s financial well‑being.
• Assess economic implications of system modifications and new installations.
• Conduct financial analyses, feasibility studies, and translate strategic plans into quantifiable data.
• Manage payor contract relationships and develop joint‑venture or collaborative arrangements.
• Invest excess cash and manage investment portfolios to maximize returns while ensuring safety.
• Establish and continuously evaluate internal controls, ensuring compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in healthcare finance.
• Proven ability to provide accurate, timely management information and support strategic planning.
