Director, Enterprise Maintenance

About the role

The Director, Enterprise Maintenance is a senior leader responsible for defining and executing a unified maintenance strategy across a multi‑site footprint that includes retail stores, food manufacturing plants, facilities, and emerging operations. This role drives the shift from reactive repairs to disciplined preventive and predictive maintenance, improving asset reliability, uptime, and long‑term cost efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise‑wide maintenance strategy for retail, manufacturing, and facilities assets.
• Transform the organization to a preventive and predictive maintenance model across all major equipment categories.
• Own capital planning and the full maintenance operating budget, creating multi‑year plans aligned with business growth.
• Establish maintenance standards, operating rhythms, and performance metrics for all business units.
• Utilize CMMS and data‑driven reporting to enforce work‑order discipline, ticket aging resolution, and service‑call efficiency.
• Negotiate, standardize, and manage vendor contracts to optimize cost, quality, and service levels.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing maintenance team, fostering bench strength and leadership development.
• Champion safety, regulatory compliance, and a culture of accountability across all sites.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in maintenance or facilities management within multi‑site, multi‑industry environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing capital plans and operating budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including vendor negotiation and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Track record of building high‑performing teams and developing future leaders.
