Director, Communications & Public Affairs

About the role

The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) seeks a dynamic media leader to shape and elevate its global image. Reporting to senior leadership, the Director, Communications & Public Affairs will guide policy‑focused communication strategies and advise on complex regulatory landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel on policy issues to corporate communications and marketing teams.
• Collaborate with Government Relations, Food Safety, Regulatory, and Science & Technology teams on emerging policy matters.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive public affairs and media relations strategy to boost IFPA’s visibility.
• Lead the global media strategy, working closely with the Vice President of Content & Communications.
• Cultivate relationships with U.S. and international government entities, policymakers, and media outlets.
• Supervise, coach, and develop the Communications and Media Relations Manager, setting priorities and ensuring high‑quality execution.
• Drive the association’s policy positions and brand voice to increase positive awareness among key stakeholders.
