Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group‑home setting, promoting independence and community inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, hygiene assistance, ADL support, and medication administration according to individual service plans.
• Prepare balanced meals, shop for groceries, and manage household cleaning and safety checks.
• Facilitate community outings, transport individuals safely, and support participation in activities.
• Document daily notes, event reports, and medication records accurately and promptly.
• Respond to challenging behaviors, follow behavior support protocols, and report any abuse or neglect.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Passion for serving others and reliable, punctual work habits.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and maintain a valid driver’s license with auto insurance.
• First Aid, CPR, and OIS certifications (or ability to obtain).
• 1+ years experience with developmental disabilities preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• OIS certification.
• Familiarity with iLearn Core Competencies or Workday (preferred).
