Digital Transformation Analyst (User Experience Analyst I)

About the role

Fresno State is hiring a Digital Transformation Analyst (also called User Experience Analyst I) in its Information Systems and Technology unit. Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Planning and Digital Transformation, the analyst supports the adoption, integration and design of campus technology solutions and digital experiences, including web, mobile, desktop, hardware interfaces, physical environments and person-to-person interactions. The role works with cross-functional teams and campus stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions aligned with the university's digital transformation initiatives. It is a full-time, 40-hour-week, probationary, non-exempt position performed onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate requirements gathering, project execution and completion through effective communication.
• Conduct needs assessments and user research, including interviews, surveys, focus groups and data collection.
• Design, prototype and test web and mobile interfaces, iterating on designs based on usability testing and user feedback.
• Evaluate the efficacy of prototypes and projects and analyze accessibility test results.
• Participate in and facilitate workshops, solution demonstrations and presentations.
• Work with developers and technical and non-technical stakeholders, and train users on campus software.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field.
• Working experience in both web and mobile app design.
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG/WAI) and experience supporting accessibility testing and remediation.
• Applied knowledge of design thinking, project management and Agile practices (sprints, backlog refinement, stand-ups).
• Experience in UX design, preferably in a higher education IT environment; a portfolio of design projects and case studies.
• Preferred: Master's degree, experience with Omni Web CMS and Modo Labs, and experience supporting high-impact practices such as project-based learning and internships.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS and comparable languages, with troubleshooting of interaction designs.
• Enterprise Web Content Management platforms such as Omni Web CMS, and mobile app platforms such as Modo Labs.
• Wireframing, prototyping, responsive design and interface optimization.
• Usability testing and accessibility testing in line with Section 508 and WAI.

What we offer

• Anticipated salary range of $5,787-$5,902 per month (steps 1-2), within a classification range of $5,787-$8,430 per month.
