Digital Inclusion Specialist

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Digital Inclusion Specialist to expand equitable access to technology for residents of San Diego. Reporting to the Education & Training Program Manager and the Emerging Tech Coordinator, you will act as the office’s Digital Navigator, guiding clients toward digital resources, training, and affordable connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake screening calls, work with interpreters, and determine client eligibility for digital inclusion programs.
• Provide follow‑up support and connect eligible participants to additional IRC services.
• Administer pre‑ and post‑assessment tools to measure digital skill growth.
• Design and deliver digital skills workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
• Collaborate with community partners to adapt and improve the Digital Literacy training series.
• Create in‑language instructional videos and digital literacy materials.
• Distribute, track, and manage technology devices allocated to program participants.
• Maintain accurate client records, case notes, and data for reporting.
• Participate in program meetings, staff trainings, and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• Experience delivering digital literacy education or community‑based technology outreach.
• Familiarity with the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) Digital Navigator framework.
• Ability to conduct client intake, eligibility screening, and documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills with community organizations and internal program teams.
• Comfort working with diverse populations and using interpreters when needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the NDIA Digital Navigator framework and best practices.
• Proficiency in creating digital instructional content (e.g., videos, guides).
• Basic data entry and record‑keeping for program reporting.
