Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at its Georgetown, KY Service Center. The Diesel Mechanic will handle day‑to‑day equipment maintenance, performing preventative maintenance and both minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers and, when needed, forklifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class 8 trucks, trailers and forklifts.
• Conduct minor to major mechanical repairs on fleet equipment.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates and dollies.
• Perform welding tasks as required by location.

Required profile

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with air‑conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and possession of personal tools.
• 2 + years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Class A CDL holder with experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience in trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
