Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Technician B

About the role

Reyes Fleet Management, one of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is looking for a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician B to repair and maintain the tractor and trailer equipment at its Reyes Beverage Group shop in Gardena. The shift is full-time, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with pay of $32.00 to $36.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and complete routine preventative maintenance on fleet equipment, including standard component inspections and repairs.
• Document repairs and maintenance accurately in the online AssetWorks system, recording work done, parts used and inspections completed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals, and assist in learning these procedures.
• Follow company, local, state and federal regulations including DOT, OSHA and Reyes Fleet Management standards, and follow safety practices such as proper tool use, PPE, machine guarding and best safety practices.
• Drive Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles; the role is DOT-regulated and requires a current driver qualification file (annual MVR check, DOT physical, safety performance history from prior employers in the last three years).
• CDL holders undergo a DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of related experience.
• At least 18 years old.
• Own tools.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record under DOT regulations.
• Able to lift, push and pull more than 50 pounds regularly and more than 100 pounds occasionally.
• Preferred: technical school certification.
