Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Technician A

About the role

Reyes Fleet Management, one of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to repair and maintain tractors and trailers at its Reyes Beverage Group facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. The shift runs Tuesday to Friday 12:30pm-9:00pm and Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm, with pay of $35-$38 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment such as tractors, trailers and refrigeration units, and their related parts
• Document work orders for repairs and preventative maintenance in the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Use diagnostic technology and software to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems
• Carry out detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Follow company, local, state and federal regulations including DOT, OSHA and Reyes Fleet Management standards, and use the right tools, PPE and machine guarding safely
• Drive company, Reyes Family of Businesses and customer vehicles where required, keeping a current DOT driver qualification file; CDL holders undergo a DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and a FMCSA clearinghouse review
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned; some travel may be required

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience
• Own tools
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record under DOT rules
• Valid Class A CDL highly desired and mandatory in some locations
• Able to lift, push or pull more than 50 pounds regularly and more than 100 pounds occasionally
• Technical school certification preferred
