Diesel Mechanic – 3rd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its Baltimore Service Center on the 3rd shift (12:00 am – 10:30 am, Monday‑Friday). You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding tasks as needed.
• Use Cetaris software to create, track, and close work orders.
• Inspect and service air‑conditioning and electrical systems.
• Support trailer PMs and repairs, including lift‑gate and door mechanisms.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Class A CDL and experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and possess personal tools.
• Willingness to work the overnight 3rd‑shift schedule.
