Die Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Die Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and improves production dies used in manufacturing operations, keeping them available and performing to quality and productivity standards. The position is day-shift based and may require some flexibility and occasional Saturday work.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, clean, repair and adjust production dies for safe and reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot die issues affecting part quality, fit, forming, cutting, repeatability or production flow.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance on dies, tooling, punches, inserts and wear surfaces.
• Respond quickly to die issues to support uptime and minimize downtime.
• Identify worn or damaged components and coordinate repairs, replacements or improvements.
• Make adjustments and minor modifications to improve die performance and consistency.
• Support root cause analysis of recurring issues and document maintenance and repair activities.
• Follow safety procedures, housekeeping and maintenance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in maintenance, machining, tool and die or a related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in die maintenance, tool and die repair, industrial maintenance, machining or a similar manufacturing role.
• Experience troubleshooting tooling, dies, fixtures or production equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and kneel for long periods, and work safely around active production equipment.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools, hand tools, grinders, drills, presses and basic shop equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and work instructions.
• Understanding of machining, forming, cutting, welding and general manufacturing processes.
