Developmental Technologist

About the role

The Developmental Technologist works in the Molecular Pathology Laboratory at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, supporting the validation, verification, and implementation of new molecular diagnostic assays. The position reports to the Medical Director and operates on a regular day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and verify new assays, collect and analyze data, and prepare documentation for review.
• Write and submit technical procedures for approval and train medical technologists on new testing methods.
• Perform laboratory testing across all complexity levels while adhering to quality control and regulatory standards.
• Maintain instruments, perform calibrations, and document all quality control activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science or equivalent CLIA qualification.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or related laboratory environment.
• ASCP certification (MT or MLS) preferred.
• Ability to work independently, follow standard precautions, and handle hazardous materials safely.
