Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician

About the role

The Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development seeks a fellowship‑trained Developmental‑Behavioral Pediatrician to provide interdisciplinary diagnostic consultations for infants, children, and adolescents across the Gulf South.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive developmental‑behavioral assessments for a wide range of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and learning disorders.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, NPs, psychologists, speech‑language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to improve access to diagnostic services and close treatment gaps.
• Participate in the education of medical students, pediatric residents, and community pediatric professionals at Xavier‑Ochsner College of Medicine and the University of Queensland‑Ochsner Clinical School.
• Lead or contribute to the development of a fellowship program in Developmental‑Behavioral Pediatrics.
• Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities under the mentorship of the System Medical Director.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatrics with fellowship training in Developmental‑Behavioral Pediatrics.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and providing diagnostic consultations for complex neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship, and academic scholarship.
• Ability to contribute to research initiatives and professional organizations at the regional and national level.
