Development Manager, Democracy

About the role

Third Plateau is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising efforts for its democracy‑focused pooled fund. The role supports the Fund Director in expanding donor pipelines, shaping development strategy, and managing grant‑making activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Fund Director in designing and implementing individual and foundation development strategies.
• Project‑manage the Fund team and partner activities related to donor relationships and fundraising.
• Maintain and cultivate relationships with small‑to‑mid‑level donors, overseeing identification, engagement, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship.
• Prepare and contribute to grant proposals, reports, and communications for current and prospective funders.
• Report fundraising progress to the Fund’s committees and assist with strategic planning.
• Collaborate with the Development and Grants Associate to fulfill development responsibilities.

Required profile

• Experience researching, identifying, and cultivating donors for nonprofit or philanthropic initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple development activities and coordinate with internal and external partners.
• Strong written communication skills for grant proposals, reports, and donor communications.
• Capacity to support strategic fundraising planning and contribute to long‑term development strategy.
