Development Engineer – Municipal Services

About the role

The Development Engineer will join DDG’s municipal services program team in Baton Rouge. The role focuses on ensuring that all development projects comply with federal, state and local regulations while supporting efficient review and permitting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review plans, designs, permits and planning cases for municipal development projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and municipal departments to achieve timely, quality project reviews.
• Provide construction support services and technical guidance on development regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and participate in public meetings and workshops.
• Assist in updating the City’s standards, specifications and code.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Engineering Intern (EI) license required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience in design and/or permitting of land development projects.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal stormwater management regulations.
