Development Director – Fundraising & Advocacy Lead

About the role

The Development Director for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Georgia and Florida is a senior leader who drives fundraising, advocacy, and external engagement across Atlanta, Miami, and Tallahassee. Reporting to the Executive Director, the role shapes a multi‑office strategy to expand donor support and grow revenue for IRC’s humanitarian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fundraising initiatives, major‑gift solicitation, and donor stewardship across three offices.
• Oversee donor engagement, grant proposals, special events, and public‑facing communications.
• Develop and execute advocacy and community‑engagement strategies to raise IRC’s visibility.
• Partner with headquarters teams to align local efforts with global fundraising goals.
• Manage and mentor staff to achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Required profile

• Senior nonprofit leader with a proven record of securing major gifts and building partnerships.
• Strategic, entrepreneurial fundraiser comfortable translating mission into funding opportunities.
• Compelling communicator able to represent IRC effectively in the community.
• Experience leading teams and delivering results in a multi‑office environment.
