Developer Relations Engineer

About the role

As the first Developer Relations hire at Comfy, you will own how developers discover, learn, and succeed with the Comfy platform. You will act as the public technical voice, create guides, sample apps, and run office hours and hackathons.

Key responsibilities

• Write tutorials, guides, and API reference documentation that help developers move from a workflow to production in minutes.
• Build and ship production‑shaped sample applications and starter templates that demonstrate real error handling, retries, and secret management.
• Engage with developers using ComfyUI, gather feedback, and translate it into product priorities.
• Run office hours, workshops, and hackathons to provide live support and community interaction.
• Own the developer docs editorial process and ensure they meet developer expectations.
• Support custom node authors by documenting extension points and migration guides.

Required profile

• Can build real applications against an API and ship code that survives production.
• Has shipped integrations of third‑party APIs or self‑hosted services and understands the associated pain points.
• Has produced technical content such as tutorials, sample repos, videos, or docs that drove product changes.
• Has experience with API, SDK, or developer platform products and can articulate what makes them pleasant to integrate.
• Understands generative AI concepts (checkpoints, LoRAs, samplers) and can speak credibly with AI developers.
• Thrives in an undefined, early‑stage function and can define processes without a playbook.
