Desktop Engineering System Administrator 1

About the role

The Desktop Engineering System Administrator 1 supports the Enterprise Mobile Device Management environment for LSU A&M campus, handling application deployments, imaging, onboarding, and driver support for both on‑premises and cloud endpoints.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain custom OS images using SCCM for PXE deployment and collaborate with departments to meet lab and system configuration needs.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Intune and related MDM technologies (Apple School Manager) across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Support the student VDI environment (Windows 365), managing pools, imaging, application deployment, and licensing.
• Manage enterprise print services (Pharos), maintaining print servers, queues, drivers, and providing assistance to the Print Desk.
• Perform routine system maintenance, patching, health checks, and change management, and work with ITS Security on risk‑mitigation tools.
• Develop training materials, documentation, and support articles for staff and end‑users.
• Provide Tier 3 support to desktop support analysts to ensure compliance with UECM standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 1 year of hands‑on SCCM/Intune experience, or 3 years with Windows 11/Server 2019.
• Self‑driven attitude with ability to propose optimization ideas.
