Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to create and develop low‑voltage wiring harnesses and high‑voltage cable assemblies for automotive and commercial vehicle platforms. The role involves translating customer specifications into detailed designs, supporting prototype builds, and ensuring compliance with automotive quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop LV wiring harnesses and HV cable assemblies using Siemens Capital Harness software.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOM) from customer inputs and verify them against drawings.
• Produce wiring schematics, harness drawings, topology layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform harness routing, packaging studies, bundle optimization, and component integration.
• Interpret customer engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and electrical requirements.
• Select and integrate connectors, terminals, clips, splices, shielding, conduits, and protective components.
• Support prototype builds, engineering changes, issue resolution, and design validation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, validation, quality, and supplier engineering teams.
• Participate in DFMEA, DFM/DFA reviews, and engineering change management processes.
• Ensure designs meet automotive quality, safety, and regulatory requirements for LV and HV systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering with electrical knowledge.
• 3–5 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle wiring harness design.
• Hands‑on experience with Siemens Capital Harness software.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time and lift up to 25 lb.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
