Design Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Design Engineering team in Orrville, OH. You will contribute to the development of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation equipment for military and commercial applications, including US Navy nuclear submarines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept design through detailed analysis, prototype manufacture, and qualification testing.
• Create engineering calculations, design reports, CAD models, part and assembly drawings.
• Develop test procedures and support on‑site and off‑site qualification tests.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams during project reviews and issue resolution.
• Utilize a broad range of engineering and interpersonal skills across multiple disciplines.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with hydraulic and electromechanical system design.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
