Design Engineer II

About the role

Goken is seeking a Design Engineer II to lead and support engineering activities for large‑scale product development programs. The role focuses on feasibility studies, performance design, and detailed 3‑D modeling for automotive components, with occasional travel to client sites across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate feasibility and perform performance design using 3‑D modeling software.
• Conduct layout reviews and create 2‑D drawings.
• Analyze and resolve engineering problems.
• Create part specifications, bill of materials, and negotiate with component business units and suppliers.
• Validate designs through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using CAE/CFD tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, adopt new technologies, and reduce design and part costs.
• Travel to client sites (approximately 5% domestic travel) and work from various locations as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design and development of automotive components (plastics and/or sheet‑metal stampings).
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with CATIA V5.
