Design Engineer – Buildings (Modular Structures)

About the role

Module X Solutions is seeking a Design Engineer – Buildings to lead the design, configuration, and release of modular building products, including concrete and metal structures. You will guide projects from concept through production release, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D assembly models for building product lines.
• Manage product releases, revision control, and engineering change processes.
• Prepare engineering packages and coordinate with third‑party structural engineering firms.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturability and production readiness.
• Lead new product introduction activities from concept through production release.
• Maintain engineering documentation, specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Conduct cross‑functional design reviews and resolve technical issues prior to release.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, drafting standards, and applicable codes.
• Provide technical support for production, quality, and field‑related engineering issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and release processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of mechanical or multi‑discipline engineering experience.
• Experience with modular buildings, structural systems, or panelized construction preferred.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes and formal product release environments.
• Experience preparing packages for external structural review.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar parametric CAD platforms.
• 3D assembly modeling.
