Derivative Trader

About the role

Santander is seeking a Derivative Trader to support its exchange‑traded derivatives (listed options) business in Miami. The role involves executing client transactions, managing the full lifecycle of listed options, and contributing to the Capital Markets team’s revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute exchange‑traded derivatives and securities for clients within established risk limits.
• Ensure best‑execution compliance and adherence to approved counterparties and risk‑committee criteria.
• Maintain high‑quality execution in line with policy, procedural, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and Regulatory teams to review changes and ensure compliance.
• Identify and manage potential issues and risks, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Assist in developing innovative propositions, processes, and incentives to achieve financial product targets.
• Apply technical knowledge of derivatives to implement listed‑derivatives strategies.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of exchange‑traded derivatives, especially listed options.
• Ability to balance complex financial data, processes, and multi‑channel stakeholder requirements.
• Experience working within regulatory and risk frameworks.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills within a Capital Markets environment.
