Deputy Program Director, Sovereign Debt Forum

About the role

The Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) at Georgetown Law is seeking a Deputy Program Director to support the Sovereign Debt Forum (SDF) and its flagship initiative #PublicDebtIsPublic. The role will work closely with senior faculty, partner institutions, and funders to advance research, policy development, and capacity‑building activities in sovereign debt and public finance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing research agendas, strategic plans, and program content for SDF and #PDIP.
• Manage grant administration, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance for the Gates Foundation pilot grant and other funding sources.
• Coordinate outreach and partnership activities with universities, multilateral institutions, governments, and civil‑society organizations.
• Support additional IIEL projects and programs through data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
• Help organize and execute the annual Sovereign Debt Research and Management Conference (DebtCon) and related events.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in program management, research coordination, or grant administration.
• Strong interest in international economic law, sovereign debt, and public finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
