Senior Program Associate – Community Safety

About the role

The Center for Innovations in Community Safety (CICS) at Georgetown Law is seeking a Senior Program Associate to lead and support its community safety and democratic policing initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, the associate will collaborate with faculty, university staff, and external partners to design, implement, and manage complex projects that advance reform of the criminal legal system.

Key responsibilities

• Conceive, develop, and execute a portfolio of projects in community safety and democratic policing.
• Manage relationships with university offices, community partners, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee operational innovations, personnel, communications, training, and policy development as needed.
• Coordinate with financial, HR, development, communications, IT, events, legal, and institute offices.
• Travel to partner sites and events to support project goals.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree with 3‑5 years of project or program management experience, preferably in criminal legal system reform, police reform, or violence prevention.
• Demonstrated commitment to reducing harms of the criminal legal system and to anti‑oppression, especially anti‑racism.
• Strong collaborative, planning, organizational, creative, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment and manage a significant independent workload.
