Deputy Construction Manager

About the role

Stacy Witbeck is looking for a Deputy Construction Manager to lead the construction of bridge, retaining wall and OCS structures on the Frederick Douglass Tunnel South Approach – Package B. The role combines complex civil engineering challenges with active rail corridor logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee field and office engineers, superintendents and subcontractors for bridge, retaining wall and OCS structures.
• Develop and manage project schedules, cost tracking, forecasting and change management.
• Coordinate multiple disciplines such as earthwork, de‑watering, deep foundations, mass concrete, structural steel, waterproofing and painting.
• Provide technical input to identify and mitigate construction risks, safety issues and schedule impacts.
• Supervise QA/QC inspections, documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10 years heavy civil construction experience in a managerial role, including 5 years building bridge structures and retaining walls.
• Experience working in an active rail corridor and with mass concrete/CIP structures.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
