Dental Hygienist

About the role

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is hiring a Dental Hygienist for the Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, Illinois, to provide technical and advisory dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis. The position is full time, salaried and unionized, with Monday to Friday hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Key responsibilities

• Give complete oral prophylactic services to individuals.
• Perform educational and organizational work promoting oral hygiene.
• Assist in preparing patients for dental treatment, including lifting patients from wheelchairs into the dental chair.

Required profile

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the State does not provide visa sponsorship.
• Bilingual skills are welcome.
• A resume or curriculum vitae is recommended but not required.
• Proof of higher education must be verified by the Department of Human Services before an offer can be made.
