About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Dental Assistant to join its Oral Health Clinical team in Little Rock. This full‑time, on‑site position supports dental providers in delivering high‑quality patient care within a collaborative academic health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures.
• Assist dentists during examinations, cleanings, and surgeries.
• Take and process dental radiographs following safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts.
• Ensure strict infection‑control standards and sterilization of equipment.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post‑procedure care.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting certification preferred.
• Valid state dental assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical setting and follow detailed instructions.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
