About the role
This full‑time position is for a certified teacher who will provide Total Communication instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at Taft Elementary for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction using Total Communication methods tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
- Collaborate with support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and resources are in place.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families.
Required profile
- Valid California Deaf and Hard‑of‑Hearing Disabilities Credential (detailed copy required).
- American Sign Language proficiency.
- Current teaching credential authorized for elementary education.
- Three recent letters of recommendation with wet signatures.
- Copies of EL Authorization and Added Autism Authorization Spectrum Credential if applicable.
