DC Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a DC Maintenance Technician who oversees, maintains and repairs equipment and other facility structures in a complex warehouse environment. The position reports to an Area Supervisor and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and hydraulic and pneumatic issues; understand conveyor operating system logic (about 50% of the role)
• Perform preventative maintenance and necessary modifications on lifts, conveyors and buildings (about 20%)
• Provide equipment status reports, including unusual maintenance problems (about 10%)
• Follow manufacturer, Home Depot and government safety guidelines and OSHA standards (about 10%)
• Maintain a safe, clean work area with daily cleanup (about 10%)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Education from a trade school or equivalent program in a related field
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
• Continuous standing or walking, and regular lifting or carrying of 8-20 pound loads
• Exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes

Required skills

• Experience working on conveyor systems preferred
• Experience with general engine parts
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical inclination

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington: $25.00 - $39.00.
