DC Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair

About the role

The Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all powered industrial trucks in the facility. The role covers troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts and related material-handling equipment to minimize downtime and support warehouse and production operations. It also involves maintaining and repairing other facility structures in a complex warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, and technical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues; understand and troubleshoot conveyor operating system logic (50%)
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings (20%)
• Provide equipment status reports, including details of unusual maintenance problems (10%)
• Follow manufacturer, Home Depot and government safety guidelines, and adhere to OSHA standards (10%)
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment with daily cleanup (10%)

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Trade school degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays
• Continuous standing or walking, and regular lifting or carrying of moderately weighted material (8-20 pounds)
• Typical overnight travel of less than 10%

Required skills

• Experience working on industrial electric forklifts preferred
• Experience with general engine parts
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical inclination

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $22.00 - $50.00.
