DC Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair

About the role

The Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all powered industrial trucks in the facility. The role covers troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts and related material-handling equipment to minimise downtime and support warehouse and production operations. It reports to the Area Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and hydraulic and pneumatic issues; understand conveyor operating system logic (about 50% of the role)
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings (about 20%)
• Provide equipment status reports, including details of unusual maintenance problems (about 10%)
• Follow manufacturer, Home Depot and government safety guidelines and OSHA standards (about 10%)
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including daily cleanup of work areas (about 10%)

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Education acquired through a trade school degree program or equivalent in a related field
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays
• Typical physical demands: continuous standing or walking, and lifting or carrying material of moderate weight (8-20 pounds); occasional overnight travel under 10%

Required skills

• Experience working on industrial electric forklifts preferred
• Experience working with general engine parts
• Basic computer skills
