DC Asset Protection Manager

About the role

The DC Asset Protection Manager oversees asset protection and safety functions at a distribution center, supporting Home Depot's business objectives such as minimizing shrink, risk and safety incidents. The role covers onboarding to AP programs, OSHA standards and investigations, training, coaching, handling potentially volatile situations and investigating assigned DCs, including data integrity and performance metrics. It directs the leadership team on improving profitability through reduced shrink, safety, expenses and liability.

Key responsibilities

• Strategy and planning (30%): plan asset protection activities such as shrink and safety awareness programs, merchandise accuracy audits and training, and implement strategic plans with building leadership
• Delivery and execution (30%): participate in decisions on shrink, safety, accuracy and compliance, initiate investigations into safety, regulatory and theft issues, track performance metrics and report problems to the GM and Sr. Asset Protection Manager
• People management (20%): lead a team of Asset Protection Supervisors and Auditors, make recommendations on recruitment, performance appraisals and development, and identify training needs
• Compliance (20%): lead regulatory investigations (OSHA, EPA, state and federal agencies), maintain supply chain security measures and seal compliance, and ensure electronic security systems work properly
• Travel: typically 20% to 50% of the time, mostly overnight

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: 3+ years of asset protection, supply chain or distribution operational experience, 2 or 4-year college degree, Wicklander & Zulawski certification, CCTV and digital recording experience, logistics or field investigation experience, LPC or LPQ completion, and leadership experience
