Data Intern – UN Sexual Exploitation & Abuse Office

About the role

The Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) seeks a motivated Data Intern to strengthen data analysis and visualization capacities that support accountability, transparency, and strategic decision‑making across UN programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and organize raw data related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, including trend analysis, to inform reporting and response strategies.
• Develop and enhance dashboards and visualisations using Power BI, Verint, Excel and web‑based tools.
• Create visual storytelling materials, infographics and presentations for advocacy and communication.
• Support system‑wide SEA data coordination, knowledge sharing and the annual survey analysis.
• Assist in analysing gaps in iReport and collating user recommendations for data collection improvements.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to optimise internal data workflows.
• Provide general office support, including drafting correspondence.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme.
• No prior work experience required; academic training should benefit the UN.
• Computer literate in standard software applications.
• Demonstrated interest in UN work and commitment to the Charter’s ideals.
