About the role

Sage Care is building an AI‑powered care navigation platform and needs a Data Engineer to own the full lifecycle of provider, referral and patient data. You will work at the intersection of data management, machine learning research and software engineering.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the core data management system, including HIPAA‑compliant storage.
  • Develop data ingestion pipelines integrating with systems such as EPIC.
  • Build user‑facing UI for viewing, updating and searching data.
  • Extract high‑level semantic knowledge from raw medical data and create summarization layers.

Required profile

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to work with ambiguous problems and define solutions from first principles.
  • Experience collaborating with end users and iterating based on feedback.

Required skills

  • Data extraction and summarization techniques.
  • Backend engineering and systems thinking.
  • Building scalable, HIPAA‑compliant storage solutions.
  • Developing UI components for data management.
