Data Engineer – Data Products & Delivery (Hybrid)

About the role

Parts Town is seeking a Data Engineer to transform raw data into business‑ready products on Google Cloud Platform. You will design and optimise data models, marts, and semantic layers in BigQuery, supporting analytics, BI, and machine‑learning use cases across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Build silver and gold layers in BigQuery, turning raw data into clean, business‑ready models.
• Design semantic layers using Looker or dbt to ensure consistent business metrics.
• Develop data marts and star schemas for self‑service BI.
• Create APIs and services for data delivery with Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, and ML engineers to prepare data for advanced modelling.
• Collaborate with Data Governance to embed stewardship, lineage, and metadata in Dataplex.
• Support real‑time analytics using BigQuery streaming and Pub/Sub.
• Optimise query performance and cost efficiency in BigQuery.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to data quality, governance, and security.
