Data Engineer (Azure)

About the role

CACI is seeking a Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience designing, developing and supporting enterprise data platforms in Microsoft Azure. The role requires deep ETL/ELT expertise and broad knowledge of cloud-based data architecture, integration, processing, application and security services. It is a full-time position with up to 10% local travel.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions
• Develop data architectures for batch, real-time and event-driven processing
• Design data models, data flows, integration patterns and storage solutions
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, applications and enterprise systems
• Build Azure solutions using Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Functions, Logic Apps and Event Hubs, and Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB
• Support data governance, cataloging, classification and lineage
• Implement secure solutions using RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, private endpoints and Entra ID
• Maintain, troubleshoot and optimize pipelines and production services, and collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, data integration or ETL/ELT
• Strong understanding of data architecture, modeling, data warehousing, data lakes and integration patterns
• Experience designing and implementing data solutions in cloud environments
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting production data solutions

• Strong SQL and relational databases
• Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Functions or Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database
• Desired: Azure Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, Microsoft Purview, Self-Hosted Integration Runtime, Azure App Service, Power BI, Azure Machine Learning, Python or PySpark, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
