Data Analyst – Hybrid (New York)

About the role

Wilson Elser’s Business Solutions & Innovations team is seeking a hands‑on Data Analyst to support the firm’s strategic overhaul of legacy technology and business processes. Based in New York, the role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain reporting processes for firm stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of databases that support firm operations.
• Utilize Power BI Analysis Services for data visualization and reporting.
• Leverage the Aderant financial system for financial reporting.
• Perform initial data analysis, refinement, and documentation of legacy scripting routines.
• Respond to ad‑hoc data requests and communicate findings to internal and external resources.

Required profile

• 1–3 years experience in financial systems administration.
• 1–3 years recent experience with the Aderant financial system.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent oral communication and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Required skills

• Power BI Analysis Services.
• MS SQL, SSRS and SQL query writing.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including VBA/Macro debugging.
• Experience with JIRA or comparable project‑management tools.
• Familiarity with Aderant financial software.
• Knowledge of Sequel Viewpoint systems (preferred).
