Cybersecurity Director

About the role

Business Wire is seeking a Cybersecurity Director to provide strategic leadership for its global security function. The role will shape security strategy, oversee architecture and infrastructure, and guide risk decisions across the organization while supporting new client solutions in data centers and the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a long‑term cybersecurity and GRC roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement of security strategies to protect critical assets and data.
• Manage a comprehensive Governance, Risk, and Compliance program supporting audits, client assessments, and standards such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
• Oversee security communications, awareness training, policy updates, and incident alerts.
• Maintain the relationship with the external cyber‑defense partner, evaluating performance and alignment with priorities.
• Drive initiatives in cloud security, application security, identity and access management, Zero Trust, email security, data protection, privacy, and emerging technology risks including AI.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in cybersecurity and GRC within a complex, global organization.
• Strong ability to influence cross‑functional teams and foster a security‑first culture.
• Excellent strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills in regulatory and technical environments.
