Cyber Security Specialist (1-2 years experience)

About the role

AaraTech Inc is looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Specialist with 1–2 years of experience to support its information security, risk management and compliance initiatives. The role offers early‑career professionals hands‑on experience protecting systems, networks and sensitive data in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and triage security alerts, logs and events from SIEM, EDR, firewalls and other security platforms.
• Identify, assess and document security risks, vulnerabilities and remediation actions.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, compliance and operations teams.
• Support implementation and maintenance of security controls aligned with policies and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO, NIST).
• Assist with vulnerability assessments, patch‑management tracking and remediation validation.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, documentation and root‑cause analysis.
• Perform security configuration reviews and access‑control validations.
• Help with audits, risk assessments and compliance reporting.
• Maintain security documentation such as procedures, incident reports and risk registers.
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or a related role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical problem‑solving skills and good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non‑technical teams and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SIEM, EDR, antivirus, vulnerability scanners and firewalls.
• Understanding of network security, endpoint security and access controls.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA and SOC 2.
• Experience reviewing logs, alerts and vulnerability reports.
