CVOR RN Contract - Daytona Beach

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Registered Nurse for a contract position in Daytona Beach, Florida. The role is open to AdventHealth StaffFlex nurses, who can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states. The schedule is 36-40 hours per week, with 6-8 shifts called in a 6-week cycle and a 30-minute response time for calls.

Key responsibilities

• Provide education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes and discharge instructions
• Document education given, including patient responses and outcomes, and refer to other providers when needed
• Deliver competent, compassionate care to patients in pain and maintain a safe care environment
• Administer medications accurately and respond to unit and hospital code situations
• Care for patients requiring oxygen support and assist physicians with bedside procedures
• Manage admissions, transfers and discharges, verify and sign off physician orders, and obtain lab specimens
• Evaluate the nursing care plan and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2 years of CVOR nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) preferred
