Customer Service Technician – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Customer Service Technician for the 2nd shift at its Murphy, NC facility. The role involves performing electro‑mechanical tests, analyzing rejected motor assemblies, and ensuring product quality while supporting delivery goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine and non‑routine electro‑mechanical tests on motor assemblies.
• Analyze rejected units to decide on repair, rework, or scrap.
• Perform electrical and mechanical verification tests against specifications.
• Rework units to meet customer specifications when possible.
• Collaborate with Quality, Design, and Manufacturing Engineers to identify root causes of failures.
• Maintain and verify test equipment, cables, breadboards, and setups.
• Record test data, compare results with specifications, and generate routine reports.
• Troubleshoot basic electronic and mechanical assembly problems.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly or related manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints, safety rules, and technical manuals.
• Good eyesight, color discrimination, and dexterity; ability to lift up to 40 lb occasionally.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word.
• Experience using Outlook and Teamcenter for communication and documentation.
• Ability to operate a soldering iron and microscope.
• Knowledge of electro‑mechanical testing procedures and acceptable test procedures.
• Basic mechanical assembly and electronic troubleshooting skills.
